Empowering Everyday People 

(65th Anniversary Celebration – the hand of God over 65 years)

We have been celebrating our 65th church anniversary by exploring the hand of God in who He has shaped us to become. Ps Chee shared on Sunday the third core value –  empowering everyone to minister.

Break into groups of 3-4 people and answer the following questions:

1. Personal Reflections 

• what are the names of people who have contributed to your spiritual journey?
• how did they contribute to your spiritual journey?
• can you identify how God has used you to contribute to other people’s spiritual journey?

2. Studying Scripture 

Ps Chee shared that the Bible contains many unknown people who mattered in the mission of God. 

Read the following passages of Scriptures – Luke 8:1-3, Acts 9:1-19, Acts 13:1-4 and Acts 17:1-9

Answer the following questions:

• what were the names of the individuals/groups mentioned?
• how did they contribute to God’s mission? 
• what personal insights can you draw about God wanting to empower everyday people?

3. Application 

• do you feel empowered to make disciples? What would being ‘empowered’ look like for you? 
• what are some of the challenges/roadblocks you are experiencing in order to be empowered to make disciples?
• what is the one thing you can do to be more ‘empowered’ to make disciples?

3. Hearing and Obeying 

• Review each other’s ‘I will’ statement from the last life group. 
• What is your ‘I will’ statement out of today’s group discussion? 
• Share with one another, pray and hold each other accountable next session.  

This Week – it will be our official 65th Celebration! There will be one conbine service at 10am with our Chinese congregation as well as special guests of pastors and previous missionaries.
