Read Matthew 1:18-2:23 and Luke 2

– Read Luke 2:52. What does it look like that Jesus grew in wisdom, stature and favor with God and others?

– How did Joseph’s character contribute to Jesus’ growth?

– How did Joseph’s choices and life contribute to Jesus’ spiritual heritage?

Reflect on your father’s character and what he modelled for you through his life, his choices and his traditions:

– What are the positive and negative influences of your father upon your wisdom, stature and favour with God and men?

– Describe the spiritual heritage that has been built into your family and how.

Ps Phil shared that, ‘we are building a spiritual heritage whether we are conscious or not. The scary thing is you not knowing what you are transferring to your children. Being intentional will help you nurture your child in the ways of God.’

Reflect on the example of your own life – choices, habits, traditions:

– For parents – describe the spiritual heritage  you are transferring to your children right now.

– For non parents – if a child is to follow your character and the model of your life, describe the spiritual heritage you would be transferring to them?

Ask the Lord what one thing you can do to be intentional in the way you are modeling and living to build a spiritual heritage for your children or your family in the future.
