The New Normal

Read Joshua 5-6

Observation
– What was the normal for the people of God prior to crossing the river Jordan (I.e. in the time of wandering in the wilderness, and enslaved in Egypt)?
– What does the new normal look like for the people of God to possess the promised land?
– What were some of the changes that the people of God had to embrace in order to live a new normal?

Application

1. What are some of the changes you are having to make in your personal life and in the life of this church to settle into a new normal?
2. Ps Phil shared in order to make the new a normal part of life, we can settle in well through 5 principles:

– Know who you are in God (Joshua 5:1-6)
– Embrace The Gift of Oneness and One Another (Joshua 5:7-9)
– Adopt and Adapt (Joshua 5:10-12)
– Seek the presence of God (Joshua 5:13-15, 6:1-2)
– Walk by faith (Joshua 6:1-2)

Share how one or more of these principles speak and apply to your situation personally and in the new season of this church.

Share what one area does the Lord want you to obey in order to settle into your new normal personally and in the life of this church.

Spend some time in prayer for one another and also for the leadership of our church as the church members goes through a season to discern and vote for the Eldership and for Ps Barry, Ps Kenny and Robert Cheng’s appointment.
