The Authority of the Word And The Empowerment of the Spirit
(65th Anniversary Celebration – the hand of God over 65 years)

Over the next three weeks we will be celebrating the hand of God in who He has shaped us to become. Amir shared two core values that has been consistent over the last 65 years:
- The Authority of the Word of God – knowing the Word and obeying the Word
- The Empowerment of the Holy Spirit – empowering us to believe and bringing freedom to obey
1. Share with one another your personal journey at Clayton church
- how did you first come to Clayton church?
- what was your first impression ?
- what was your most memorable God moment at Clayton church?
- what do you love about our church?
2. Break into groups of 3-4 people and answer the following questions:
The Authority of the Word of God
Read Matthew 7:24-27. Answer one or more of the following questions.
- Reflect on your life. Are you a wise or a foolish builder? Give your reasons and provide personal examples.
- What are some of the roadblocks you experience in knowing the Word?
- Where are some of the roadblocks you experience in obeying the Word?
- Amir shared how God has used the Word for salvation, spiritual growth and missions. In what ways have you experience the Word of God in your salvation, spiritual growth or your conviction on missions?
The Empowerment of the Holy Spirit
Read John 16:12-15. Answer one or more of the following questions.
- Describe your relationship and experiences with the Person of the Holy Spirit.
- What is the role of the Holy Spirit?
- How have you experienced the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to obey?
- How have you experienced the Holy Spirit bringing freedom for you to obey Him and His Word?
