Introduction

One of the key values in discipleship is hearing and obeying the Word. Therefore, it is important to have accountability to one another for our step of obedience from studying the Word. Spend the first part of your discussion asking – how did your step of obedience go from last time we met?

Scripture

Read:

Matthew 5:17-48
Matthew 23:13-36

Observation

What do these passages tell us about God and Jesus?
What do these passages tell us about people?
What did you like about this passage?
What did you not like about this passage?

Application

Break into groups of three and share:

Is there anything that you feel like God is confronting you with in regards to your morality?
What does He want you to do with that conviction?
What is the biggest challenge you face in obeying that conviction?

Response

Ps Chee shared that Jesus isn’t just offering a moral code, but He is telling us the truth that our hearts need saving. How does the saving work of Jesus and the Holy Spirit personally help you obey that conviction?
