Our journey of discipleship with Jesus will continue with exploring his teaching about money. Sometimes the topic of money can make us feel uncomfortable. For some of us, it may be culturally taboo to talk about money. For others, it may be the motives of those speaking that make us uneasy. However, Jesus talked a lot about money. Sixteen out the thirty-eight parables were concerned about how to handle money and possessions. In the gospels, an amazing one out of ten verses (288 in total) deals directly with the subject of money. We simply cannot teach about discipleship without teaching on the topic of money. Let us approach the next three weeks with an open heart and open mind and see what we can learn from the teachings of Jesus.
