SOAR DISCUSSION GUIDE
Who Is This Man?
Ps Chee
Vision – to build disciples who represents Jesus to everyone, everywhere with everything.
Introduction
One of the key values in discipleship is hearing and obeying the Word. Therefore, it is important to have accountability to one another for our step of obedience from studying the Word. Spend the first part of your discussion asking – how did your step of obedience go from last time we met?
Scripture
Read Mark 4:30-32 and Matthew 11:31-35
Observation
– What are your insights about God from these passages?
– What are your insights about how God reigns and rules on this earth?
– In what ways can you see the kingdom of God having an impact in Australia and in your life?
Application
John Ortberg challenged us to consider the incredible impact Jesus had made on our society as a man who changed the world.
Answer one or more of the following questions:
– how has the sermon changed the way you see Jesus? How does this bring more insight into how Paul sees Jesus in Colossians 1:15-20?
– Os Guiness quoted that the Western world is like a ‘cut flower civilisation’. Do you agree or disagree? Gives your reasons and examples.
– the vision of our church is to build disciples who represents Jesus to everyone, everywhere with everything. How does the sermon give more insight into what this vision means for you and your discipleship?
Response
Ps Chee challenged us with this question – are you living like a cut flower?
How would you answer this question?
He also shared that to be rooted is to have faith and be faithful to His Lordship. Ask the Lord what step of faith and faithfulness does He want you to take this week. Share and pray with one another.
Next Week: Ps Chee will be sharing about the ‘Dignity of Life’. We encourage you to invite your preChristian friends and family.
